This body of work is an archive of my explorations of being with, learning from and collaborating with our non-human community in this region; Detroit /Waawiyaatanong. I seek to reestablish forgotten and disrupted relationships and patterns between humans and the rest of creation that have been destroyed by settler colonial anthropocentrism, heterosurpremacy, the constructed binary of gender and the fractured understanding of where the self begins and ends. I consider my practice an alchemy that can rebuild and remember these relationships and processes. I do this for my personal liberation as well as to move toward a regenerative way of being with others. Wind play is a collection of film photos, process imagery, thoughts, sculpture, earth pigment, and fibers that are the product of my learning from and relating to the elements over the last 8 months.
